Hello Vinci Park Families!
Spring is just around the corner and the weather these past couple of weeks have been perfect!
You may have noticed a few new signs around the drop off area. Please be cautious of children walking to and from school and crossing the street during drop offs and pickups. This is a reminder that when you are dropping off your kids at the turn area, please do not park! Parked cars block the flow of traffic and make it difficult for other cars to move forward and exit causing a back-up. Your patience and cooperation is for the safety of our kids!
We had a great brainstorming meeting for our Family Fun Night Event! We came up with lots of new ideas to make this year even more memorable. The theme this year is Multicultural and we will be celebrating cultures from all around the world. The committees have been formed: food & drinks, activities, games, entertainment and raffle baskets. We are seeking volunteers to help us make this event a success. It’s not too late to purchase your emergency kits through EarthShakes. The deadline to purchase is February 16. 20% of sales will go back to Vinci Park Elementary to be used to purchase much needed emergency supplies for the school. As we are nearing the end of the school year, we are currently looking for a nominating committee to look for enthusiastic parents who would like to join the board next year. The purpose of the nominating committee is to recognize and seek qualified nominees for the elected leadership of the PTA. Elections will take place in April.

The students and staff at Vinci Park have met 2018 with enthusiasm and excitement! With so many activities ahead, we welcome your participation and help. It is through our ongoing partnership that we continue to be successful.

Many students have been reflecting on their accomplishments for the past year and setting academic and personal goals for 2018. Please take some time to reflect on the past year and join the Vinci Park teachers, staff, and students as we make a commitment to academic excellence and a love for learning throughout the year.
I would like to take this opportunity to THANK all of our many parent volunteers. It is amazing to think about all that you have done this year for our students and staff. We are truly grateful for all of your support!
The Intra district transfer window is now open for currently enrolled students. In order to be included in the lottery, transfers must be received in Education Services by March 2nd. New students will be included in a second lottery and forms must be submitted to Education Services by April 27th.
ELPAC Testing – The ELPAC is the test that is used to measure how well students in kindergarten through twelfth grade understand English when it is not their primary language. The ELPAC is taking the place of the California English Language Development Test (CELDT). Information from the ELPAC helps your child’s teacher provide support in the right areas.The Summative Assessment will be administered in Berryessa beginning February 5, 2018. Yearbook Update – This year we are working with a company called Lifetouch to make our yearbooks the best we’ve ever had! We have chosen the winner of the Yearbook cover contest amongst the 5th graders and all the participants artwork will be featured in this year’s yearbook. The yearbook is now available for purchase at ybpay.lifetouch.com. Enter our Yearbook ID # 13435118 or search for our school. The cost is $18.00 .
Spirit Wear Update – We will be selling Spirit Wear on Thursday, February 15th at 7:45am outside in the school yard. Please come and check out what we have available. We are no longer be taking orders via order form but PTA will continue to keep a stock of merchandise to sell at the school and during events.
Traffic Safety Committee – We need volunteers to help direct traffic. Time will be from 7:55 am-8:10 am and you don’t have to volunteer every day. Sign up online here: https://vinciparkpta.com/volunteer/ or contact Barb at email@example.com for more information.
Family Fun Night Committee – It’s official! Our annual Family Fun Night will take place on Friday, May 18th! For those who are new to Vinci Park, Family Fun Night is our biggest fundraising event of the year and historically this event has brought in the biggest crowds and the most funds for the PTA.
We are in the process of forming the committees who will oversee a specific function. Ex. Food Committee, Games Committee, Raffle Prizes Committee, Entertainment Committee, etc…

PTA Meetings are held each month in the staff lounge at Vinci Park. We discuss upcoming events, provide a financial report and our Principal Parisa Nunez shares updates concerning our school and students. Light snacks and refreshments are provided.
Our next PTA Meeting will be held on March 8, 2018 at 7:15 am in the staff lounge.
If you would like to become a member, complete a form located at the sign-in desk outside the front office, attach your payment and submit it to your child’s teacher or front office staff.
