President’s Message

Barb's headshot photoHello Vinci Park Families!

As we are nearing the end of the school year, we are currently looking for a nominating committee to look for enthusiastic parents who would like to join the board next year. The purpose of the nominating committee is to recognize and seek qualified nominees for the elected leadership of the PTA. Elections will take place in April. If you are interested in joining the nominating committee, would like to nominate a candidate or nominate yourself, please send an email to Laura Torrez at CLICK HERE to see the list of positions and their descriptions that we are seeking to fill for the 2018-2019 school year.

Do you know anyone who can provide services to us for our Family Fun Night? We are looking for: Food Vendors, businesses willing to donate raffle prizes, face painters, balloon makers, magicians, or anything else you can think of that the kids will enjoy! Please email: with your recommendation and the contact information so we can reach out to them.

We had such an awesome turnout at our movie night this past Friday! So many families showed up to watch Disney’s hit, “Coco” and we sold pizza, nachos and cheese, cookies and drinks and we gave away popcorn and ice cream for FREE! The kids had a blast and so did the adults. Thank you to everyone who came and a special thank you to the volunteers who helped make it a smooth and successful event!

Thank you so much to the teachers and staff for such a fun book fair ice cream social! Just look how happy these kids are to get their ice cream, hang out with their buddies and purchase some new books!

Lastly, Mrs. Nunez and I attended the annual CA PTA Luncheon earlier this month and we had the opportunity to meet other PTA leaders, educators and community leaders in the Bay Area. We heard from CA State PTA President, Dianna MacDonald as she reinforced the impact parents, teachers and the community have on our students. It was a great reminder that together, we can make a huge difference in children’s lives.

Principal’s Message

Dear Vinci Park  School Families,

This year is flying by!  What a wonderful group of students we have at Vinci Park School.  They continue to work hard, play positively and grow socially.  We will soon be entering a period of multiple assessments, if you would like to see some sample questions and have your students practice some of the released test questions, please visit,

The most important skill your 3rd-5th grade students should be working on right now is their typing skills, there are some excellent websites you can use, if you need some assistance finding one please ask your student’s teacher.

March 21 – 28 will be conference days for all students. Teachers will discuss your child’s progress, areas of strength and weakness, the report card, and they will share samples of your student’s work with you.  Please bring any questions that you may have about how your child is doing.

Students will be dismissed at 1:00 during the conference days.

As the warm weather approaches, I want to remind parents and students of our Vinci Park Dress Code. A couple of items to note are “no tank tops,” wear fingertip length shorts and skirts and to wear shoes with a back and covered toes.

Have a great month!

Warmest Regards,
Parisa Nunez

PTA Demands Action to End Gun Violence On March 14, students across the country are planning to “walk out” to make their voices heard. California State PTA is asking for your help to “call out” our federal legislators and demand action.

Stand together with the voices of students and call your federal legislators on March 14 to demand stronger gun-violence prevention legislation including:

  • Prohibiting the sale and possession of assault weapons including automatic and semi-automatic weapons
  • Mandatory background checks
  • Waiting periods for all firearm purchases.

Click here for the phone script to get our voices heard.

Yearbook Update – Don’t forget to purchase your yearbook! Simply log online at, enter our yearbook ID # 13435118 or search for our school. The cost is $18.00.

Spirit Wear Update – The PTA just placed a large order for kids and adult size hoodies. Once we receive the order, we will send out an email announcement with how you can purchase one. We are hoping to receive the order by the end of the month.

Family Fun Night Committee – It’s official! Our annual Family Fun Night will take place on Friday, May 18th!  For those who are new to Vinci Park, Family Fun Night is our biggest fundraising event of the year and historically this event has brought in the biggest crowds and the most funds for the PTA.

We are in the process of forming the committees who will oversee a specific function. Ex. Food Committee, Games Committee, Raffle Prizes Committee, Entertainment Committee, etc…

Are you interested in joining one of our committees? If you are able to help out at all, please sign up online at or send an email to
